It Turns Out I’m a Millennial After All

Selfie on Landsort ((Millennials)

Aside from the fact that I was born in the generation of Millennials, it just might possibly be that my daily yoga and penchant for chai tea qualifies me for the label as well. Truth be told, I missed out on a lot of what my generation had to offer. Since I went to so many schools, it was hard …

Business Card SelfieHello and welcome to Skye Travels. Yes, Skye is my real name. My mom was debating between Aaron and Zach, and finally chose Zach. When she mentioned this to my grandmother, she said no way. My family heritage is Dutch and German, and Zach means the same as “sack.” My granny said there was no way her grandson would be called a brown paper sack, and said instead I needed to be named after something without limits, like the sky. My mom had been quite a hippy, and readily agreed. Additionally, both my parents had been to the Isle of Skye, a decade apart, and thought the island was the most beautiful place in the world, so used the spelling for my name. Ironically, I’ve since been to the Isle of Skye myself, and I agree with their assessment.

In 2014, I quit my life to become a travel blogger.
